This collision caused the driver of the Yukon, to lose control of his vehicle and crossed over all northbound travel lanes into the median.

A 12-year-old girl is dead and six others are recovering from injuries after the driver of a vehicle she was riding in struck two cars and lost control and overturned in Jacksonville.

Funeral for girl killed in Christmas Eve crash set for Friday

Funeral services will be held today at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach.
One person was killed in a collision between a white SUV, black Honda Civic and silver Honda CRV around 11:50 p.m. on Southside Boulevard near Deerwood Park in Jacksonville. The white GMC Yukon with a family in it was traveling next to the Civic when it veered into the Civic’s lane, clipped it, over corrected and hit the CRV head-on. The Yukon then flipped landing on its top. The driver of the Yukon, 48-year-old Kent New, was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries, and 12-year-old Natalie New, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the hospital. The four other passengers who were in the Yukon received minor injuries: Roberta New, 69, Jennifer New, 48, and two children ages 12 and 8. The driver of the CRV, Logan Davis, 21, was also seriously injured in the crash and is being treated at UF Health Jacksonville. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
