Pedestrian struck in St. Augustine, in critical condition

A St. Augustine man walking in the outside lane of State Road 16 was struck by a car Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling eastbound on SR 16 just west of Four Mile Road in the outside lane and failed to see Karon Manning, 22, of St. Manning was taken to UF Health Jacksonville and is in critical condition. After the crash, the eastbound lanes of SR 16 were closed for five hours and reopened at 7:25 a.m.
