According to Fort Lauderdale police, the driver of a Dodge Challenger collided with the charter bus as it headed north on Northwest 27th Avenue at 11th Court. The driver died immediately after the impact of the crash; a passenger was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where they also died.

The driver, identified as Cedrick Camper III, 41, of Fort Lauderdale, died upon impact. A passenger, identified as by family members as Otis Harvey III. was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

The driver of the car, Cedric C. Camper III, 41, of Fort Lauderdale, "pretty much died on impact," Officer Keven Dupree, a spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, said.
