Two men struck by a Miami-Dade Transit bus were taken to Ryder Trauma Center Monday night, including a victim who was found under the bus, authorities said.

Paramedics removed a 44-year-old man from beneath the bus at the Omni Bus Terminal at 15th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, a Miami Fire Rescue spokesman said.

The man, who had head and hand injuries, was cared for by a quick-thinking security watchman until help arrived.

The second victim, who is 74 years old, was heading to the Miami Heat-Utah Jazz game at AmericanAirlines Arena when he was struck. He was being treated for leg and stomach wounds.

The vehicle involved was a Route C bus that was coming from Miami Beach and entering the terminal, Miami-Dade Transit said. About 20 people on board the bus were transferred to another one, while the female driver was being interviewed by investigators.

Bus and Metromover service was continuing, but passengers needed to check with supervisors on site for information on route changes and pickup locations, Miami-Dade Transit said.

Both Miami-Dade Transit and Miami Police are investigating the incident.
