A man walking on an highway ramp died after being struck by a car Saturday evening.

If his truck was disabled, "he probably pulled off and presumably was going to get help," said Joseph Corteguera, who lives in Houston. "He would not have wanted to leave his truck abandoned on the road with all his equipment."

Charles Corteguera was walking on the entrance ramp to Interstate 95 from Copans Road when he was hit by a BMW driven by 27-year-old Jared Matthew Solomon. Corteguera was pronounced dead at the scene, and his car was found not far away.
