Man retrieving dropped key killed in hit-and-run crash near Gaylord Palms Resort

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a group of four were driving back to their hotel room when one of the passengers had his arm out the window and accidentally dropped his room key.  The car stopped, and when the man got out to pick the key up, he was struck by a white pickup truck, troopers said.

Just before 7 a.m., troopers found a black Mazda sport utility vehicle that they suspect was involved in the crash.
A man retrieving a dropped key was struck by a vehicle and killed early Thursday in a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County. The pickup kept driving, leaving the man dead on Vineland Road. The victim's friends said the pickup truck did not have its lights on.
