Emergency vehicles were blocking the lanes, but troopers say a car managed to get around them.
It then crashed into the rear rotor of the helicopter, damaging the craft and forcing crews to have it towed away, FHP said.
Medical helicopter responds to serious crash, gets hit by car
The crew of the helicopter was not injured, but the aircraft was damaged and had to be towed to a nearby parking lot until it was determined to be airworthy.
The initial crash happened at about 2:16 a.m. on U.S. 192 near State Road 429 near Kissimmee.
The helicopter landed on the roadway to pick up victims injured in the crash, officials said.
