The Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release that there were "multiple ejections" when the vehicles crashed near New Smyrna Beach on Thursday morning.

For an unknown reason the Toyota, driven by Nila Ritenour, drifted from the center lane into the left lane. Luciano swerved to the left to avoid a collision, but he overcorrected and the right side of the Honda hit the back of the Toyota, causing the SUV to flip multiple times.
