Two drivers died when a 91-year-old man driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 near the Florida-Georgia border late Friday night stuck an SUV and a Greyhound bus.

Two Florida men died and 13 people were sent to local hospitals with minor injuries in a five vehicle crash involving a Greyhound bus on Interstate 75 in Jasper late last night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An Atlanta-bound Greyhound bus was involved in a fatal, five-vehicle crash near the Florida-Georgia border, a spokeswoman with the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Two drivers died when a 91-year-old man driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 near the Florida-Georgia border late Friday night stuck an SUV and a Greyhound bus.

Troopers said a 91-year-old driver was diving south in the northbound lanes when they ran head-on into the bus and a Ford Expedition at mile marker 449, about 10 miles south of Jasper in Hamilton County.

The car's driver, Ernest Lee Holmes, 91, from High Springs, Florida was killed in the accident, according to the FHP report. Peter Linek, 55, of Ormond Beach, who was driving the SUV also died.

The bus left Orlando about 8:15 p.m. and had made a stop in Gainesville before heading north toward Atlanta. The Florida Highway Patrol was called just before midnight to the scene of the accident.

Troopers said there were 42 passengers on board the bus at the time of the crash and 13 of them sustained injuries.

FHP's Traffic Homicide Investigation unit is investigating the multiple-vehicle crash.

A Baldwin Middle-Senior High School student is on life support after a crash near the Florida-Georgia border Monday.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 17-year-old Richard Baer was on a hunting trip with three friends in Charlton County, Ga., when their car drove off Stokes Road and hit a tree.

Baer was taken to UF Health Jacksonville.

Troopers said Baer and his friends were near St. George, Ga., when the car they were riding in moved off the shoulder of the road and hit a tree.

The bus was quiet as the Florida High track and field team slept on its return trip from Thursday night’s region track meet in Jacksonville.

Minutes earlier, as the bus exited I-10 into Tallahassee, Seminoles coach Tyrone McGriff and his assistants started to wake up players.

They telephoned their families to let them know the bus would soon arrive at the Florida High campus. Many drifted back to sleep.

John Leroy Morris, 45, of White Springs, FL,  was driving on U.S. 41 near Southeast 160th Court around 10:00 a.m. Sunday, when he struck a mailbox, causing the car to spin until it hit a tree. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene by Hamilton County Rescue.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. A traffic homicide unit was called to investigate the crash as a precautionary measure due to the driver being pregnant.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday three girls were riding on a four-wheeler. 15-year-old Julia Flannagan was driving and pulled the wheel too hard to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision with an unknown vehicle. The four-wheeler ran off the road into the ditch. Troopers report the girls were in serious condition. FHP said none of the girls were wearing seatbelts or helmets.

51-year-old Anthony Caney of Tallahassee, FL, died around 2:30 p.m. following an accident Wednesday morning. Caney was driving a truck that was hooked to an empty horse trailer, eastbound on Interstate 10 when he approached traffic at mile marker 44 at the Cedar Lake overpass. Caney was unable to stop in time, and crashed into an 18-wheeler.
