28-year-old Cody Allen Cooper's truck failed to stay in its lane through a curve and collided with a Honda Odyssey driven by 55-year-old Edward David Vickers, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Twenty-eight-year-old Cody Allen Cooper was driving with 5-year-old passenger Lindsey Lee Cooper in a 1992 Mitsubishi Mighty Max about midnight Sunday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol release. Edward David Vickers, 55, was driving a Honda Odyssey with 77-year-old passenger Margaret Corbett Walker.

Criminal charges against the driver of the pickup are pending. The outcome of any criminal proceedings related to the crash is separate from any civil actions that may be filed.
