James Michael Hartman, 32, killed in car accident on U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County, Florida

A Ruskin man died Sunday night after a vehicle pulled in front of his car and he lost control on U.S. 41 and hit two trees. James Michael Hartman was driving a 1998 Ford Taurus south on U.S. 41 around 7 p.m. when another vehicle turned in front of him. Hartman swerved to avoid the car, but spun off the road and struck the trees. Hartman was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died. A passenger in his car, Amanda Ward, 18, of Carmel, Illinois, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
