Melvin George Stockum, 76, of Dunnellon, was driving a 2001 Nissan X-Terra eastbound on SR-44 east of Kensington Avenue in the westbound inside lane around 11:29 p.m. At the same time, Carlos Martin Colon, 44, of Homosassa, was headed westbound on SR-44 in the inside westbound lane in a 2010 Chevy Cruze.
