Shannon’s passengers included his two daughters, his son-in-law and a family friend. They were identified as: 24-year-old Southeastern University student Olivia Shannon, 26-year-old Baltimore teacher Victoria Shannon Worthington, 27-year-old University of Maryland law student Peter Worthington Jr. and 32-year-old Lakeland teacher Krista Clayton.

Shannon, 70, was a former marine who owned an ran an independent law firm in Lakeland, Florida, for 36 years, WTVT reported. The law firm specialized in serious injury, death and insurance claims, according to its website.

Krista Clayton, who also leaves a fiancé in Lakeland, Florida, was born in Westerly, grew up in Charlestown, and graduated from Chariho High School and the University of Rhode Island, her obituary from Lakeland Funeral Home said.
