One person killed in Christmas Eve Hernando crash

Kimberly Atchley, the 27-year-old driver, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Bayfront Brooksville Hospital.

Clearwater man killed in Hernando crash

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
One person died and another sustained minor injuries on Christmas Eve in a single-vehicle crash in Hernando County. Merritt Clinton Atchley, 38, of Clearwater, was killed in the crash, which occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on northbound Interstate 75. The driver Kimberly Atchley lost control of the 2005 Saturn VUE, which exited the highway and collided with a tree. Merritt Clinton Atchley died at the crash site.
