Live power lines landed on the access roads and main lanes of U.S. 19. Duke Energy crews worked through the night to restore power to the area.
44-year-old Luis Manuel Sanchez was driving south on a U.S. 19 service road at around 11:00 p.m. when he collided with a power pole. He was found dead at the scene, and live power lines were strewn across the roadway.
