A school bus and two cars were involved in an accident, leaving one dead, in Dade City Wednesday afternoon. The three-vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of US 301 and Morningside Drive, Dade City Police say. Police say a Smart car was sitting at a red light in the southbound lanes of US 301 when it was struck by a Pasco County school bus. The impact pushed the vehicle into the intersection where it struck a third vehicle driven by 65-year-old Harian McDonald of Dade City. McDonald was killed at the scene. There were two children in her car and they were taken to Florida Hospital with injuries that appear minor. The driver of the Smart car was flown to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The bus driver, 57-year-old Bonita Mayle, was not injured.
