"The train made every effort to alert the man and stop, but struck the man, and he is deceased on scene," the sheriff's office said.

No foul play is suspected. As of 3 p.m., the train was still stopped on the tracks, and had passengers on it.

A man was jogging along railroad tracks while wearing headphones when he was struck and killed by a train. The conductor of the Amtrak 98 Silver Meteor blew his horn several times but the jogger did not appear to hear. Authorities are investigating the incident.
