Driver charged in Pinellas Park crash

A driver police say caused a multi-vehicle crash in Pinellas Park Wednesday has been arrested. Police say Matthew Rhine, 25, of Pinellas Park, was driving a stolen 2008 Chevy Malibu when he ran a stop sign at 66 Street and 66th Ave. Wednesday, Rhine was discharged from the hospital and transported to the Pinellas County Jail where he was charged with the crash and the theft of the motor vehicle. Police say Rhine and the two juveniles had to be extricated by rescue personnel and were all transported to the hospital as trauma patients. Officers also say Rhine was driving with a suspended license and had two juveniles in the car.

3 seriously injured in Pinellas Park crash

The road is down to one lane at 66th Avenue as crews work to clear the crash, police said. Three people were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
