Polk City student dies after being hit by car
Thursday morning, Jacob Scott of Polk City was walking westbound along the shoulder of Barfield Road to his bus stop. Around 7:45 a.m., deputies say, he was struck by a car heading eastbound not far from State Road 559.

This was a tragic way for us
This was a tragic way for us to lose Jacob but he will forever be in our hearts. This special young man had been through so much in his short life it is difficult to think that at a time when he was finally safe, happy and loved ... we lost him.
