A 24-year-old Riverview man died early Saturday from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 41 and Pembroke Rd. in Hillsborough County.

Ryan L. Leguizamon was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. Investigators say a 2014 semi pulling a trailer was heading east on Pembroke Rd. when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto northbound US 41.

Leguizamon was traveling south on US 41 in his 2007 KIA in the outside lane when the truck veered into his path. The KIA struck the trailer and came to rest in the outside lane after impact.

A 2010 Dodge Van driven by 56-year-old Deborah Hagelberg of Apollo Beach was unable to stop and struck the rear of Leguizamon’s vehicle. Hagelberg was not injured.

Steven Cox, a 51-year-old Brandon resident and driver of the semi, was not injured. A passenger in his vehicle was not hurt either.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
