Three dead in 4-vehicle crash on U.S. 301 in Thonotosassa
The crash occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. Saturday when a silver Volkswagen Bug attempted to pass a car on U.S. 301. The Bug collided with a SUV.
The impact forced the vehicles into two other vehicles.

Florida Highway Patrol said that the crash occurred when Elisa Chantelriquelme, 28, of Zephyrhills attempted to pass another vehicle traveling southbound on US-301 when her Volkswagen Beetle slammed head on with a Ford Explorer in the northbound lane.

Riquelme of Zephyrhills died at the scene, according to the FHP. The driver of the Explorer, 24-year-old Matthew Alfonso Garcia of Riverview was thrown from the SUV. He and his passenger, 24-year-old Corey Samuel Dormany of Seffner were both killed.
