Delray police: Motorcyclist killed in South Dixie crash, road closed

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Dixie Highway, near Linton Boulevard. An employee from a nearby dealership was test-driving a 2002 Lexus sedan, traveling north on Dixie. He lost control and veered into the southbound lanes and some dirt on the west side of the road, said Dani Moschella, spokeswoman for Delray Beach police. As the the employee drove back onto Dixie, he collided with a southbound motorcycle ridden by a man and a woman. Both motorcycle riders were rushed to Delray Medical Center as trauma alerts.

The driver of the 2002 Lexus, Amal Khan, 28, of Fort Lauderdale is a mechanic at Ed Morse Toyota on Federal Highway who was taking the car on a test drive at the time of the crash, police said. Witnesses said Khan was driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Dixie and swerved to avoid another car.

Second motorcyclist dies from crash with car in Delray Beach, police say

Michel Vachon, 66, of Adstock, Canada died Thursday night from injuries he sustained after the crash on April 6. His wife, Suzanne Labbe Vachon, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene.
