Authorities say six people, including four children, have been killed in a weekend highway crash in South Florida

Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto told the Palm Beach Post that emergency first responders found multiple victims lying in the road.

The highway patrol said it is unclear if the passengers were wearing seatbelts.

Five of six killed in I-95 crash near Martin County line were Stuart residents

They were going south in a 2001 Mercury Villager, driven by Heidi Solis-Perez, 33. A tread of the vehicle tire separated, causing the driver to lose control, the report states.

After hitting a concrete barrier wall, the vehicle spun back into the southbound lane and into the path of the second vehicle.
