A 61-year-old Stuart woman was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach Saturday afternoon after the motorcycle on which she was riding was hit by a car, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office said. Daniel J. Casey, 66, of Jupiter was driving south on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road on his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 11 a.m. with Anatasia Faulkner riding on the back, according to a sheriff’s report. At the same time Cassidy Rae Campbell, 18, of Loxahatchee was driving west on Banyan Boulevard in her 2000 Pontiac sedan. According to the sheriff’s report, Campbell did not see the approaching motorcycle and started crossing Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, hitting the saddle bag on the bike and throwing Faulkner off the back of the bike. Faulkner hit her head on the pavement and was flown by Trauma Hawk to the hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition with head injuries, according to the sheriff’s report. Casey suffered minor injuries and Campbell was unhurt. Neither Casey nor Faulkner were wearing helmets, which are not required by Florida law for riders over the age of 21.
