Accident leaves 1 dead and 2 seriously injured

According to Dougherty County police there was a two car accident around midnight on Sunday that left one person dead and two seriously injured. DCP says that charges are pending for the driver who failed to yield after 2 people were seriously injured and one died as a result of the accident. Reports state that the driver heading down County Line Rd. failed to yield at a stop sign. The WALB news team is working to get more information on this accident and will update the story as information comes in. The vehicle heading down Sylvester Rd. then struck the other vehicle.

Toddler killed in Dougherty County crash early Sunday

The initial investigation found that a Honda vehicle — being driven northward on County Line Road by Chelsi Marie Lewis, 20 — had failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign, resulting in her vehicle going into the path of a semi truck being driven eastward on Sylvester Road by Lonnie Williford, 44, said DCPD Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick.
