One person is dead after a dump truck crashed into the side of an SUV in Hall County on Wednesday.

Woman ID’d in Poplar Springs dump truck wreck

Dump truck driver Lawrence Swikard, 49, of Gainesville was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was in satisfactory condition Wednesday afternoon.

At around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Poplar Springs Road and Wofford Road, a dump truck ran into the side of a Honda SUV. The SUV was dragged off the roadway along with the truck and into a yard. The woman driving the SUV, identified as Syble Cooper was killed in the crash, but Lawrence Swikard, 49, the driver of the dump truck, is in satisfactory condition at the hospital. Investigation shows that the truck lost one of its front tires, which is what caused it to crash into Cooper's car.
