ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been killed and another woman was injured in a wrong-way crash. Local news media report that Forsyth County Deputy Robin Regan says the collision occurred on an interstate in Forsyth County shortly after 4 a.m. The woman was ultimately removed from the vehicle by firefighters was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. Regan says the surviving victim was entrapped in the SUV, which flipped on its side. Sunday involving two vehicles - an SUV and car.

Woman injured in wrong-way crash in serious condition

Authorities say a woman injured in a wrong-way crash that left another woman dead is hospitalized in serious condition. Forsyth County sheriff's officials said Gonzalez was driving her Honda Accord the wrong way when she struck Held's Nissan Exterra. Sheriff's officials identified the motorists as 21-year-old Maria Gonzalez of Cumming, who was killed in the crash; and 27-year-old Ashley Held. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Held was initially in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, but was later upgraded to serious. Authorities say the head-on crash happened shortly after 4 a.m.
