Teen hurt in Thurmond Lake accident still critical

Thomas Marshall Jay was airlifted to the hospital Aug. 17 after the accident in the Keg Creek area.

Water scooter victim still hospitalized

The three vehicles were being operated by two juveniles and a 17-year-old. Padgett said all of the drivers were operating the vessels legally.
A 14-year-old boy injured in a personal watercraft accident last week on Thurmond Lake remains in critical condition. The teen, who was a passenger on one watercraft traveling with two others, fell or jumped into the water before being injured. Preliminary results show one of the other water scooters might have hit him.
