TRAFFIC ALERT: Fatal wreck blocks I-75 near Perry

Georgia State Patrol in Perry says Interstate 75 is closed in both directions near mile marker 131 due to a traffic accident where at least one person has died. The post said the southbound lanes were re-opened after 10:30 a.m., but it could be at least another hour before the northbound lanes were cleared. The accident involved several vehicles and happened in the northbound lanes about five miles south of Perry. There was no immediate word on any other injuries in the crash. Drivers heading north on I-75 toward Perry were advised to find an alternate route.
