Officials say the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was heading north when he crossed the center line, entering the southbound lane. The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, who was headed south, attempted to miss the truck by steering to the right and onto the west shoulder. The driver of the Silverado also left the roadway on the west shoulder, resulting in a head-on collision.

The driver of the Trailblazer, Luetrica Oliver, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was airlifted to a Savannah hospital.
