SCMPD investigates collision killing pedestrian on Abercorn St.

Traffic investigators with the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the collision of a pedestrian and a vehicle that left a 59-year-old woman dead on Saturday night.

Police said in a statement that Bridges was crossing the eastbound lanes of Abercorn when she was struck by a 2004 Dodge Neon driven east by a 20-year-old Savannah woman.
Cynthia Denise Bridges was declared deceased at Memorial University Medical Center after she was hit by a vehicle on Abercorn Street around 11:35 p.m. Bridges was crossing Abercorn outside of a crosswalk when she was hit by a 2004 Dodge Neon driven by a 20-year-old Savannah woman. The driver has not been identified by authorities.
