One dead after automobile hits pedestrian
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers responded to the 11700 block of Abercorn Street after receiving reports of a crash at approximately 2:30 a.m. where a car struck a pedestrian.
The driver was traveling eastbound along Abercorn Street when they struck the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothes and crossing the street in a "shadowed area". The pedestrian did succumb to their injuries at the scene. A name will be released after their next of kin have been notified.

Authorities have identified the victim as 53-year-old Harvey McCallister. The SCMPD Traffic Investigations Unit continues to investigate the accident.
