1 dead, 2 injured following car crash on Waianae Valley Road

Around 12:13 a.m. police responded to the area and closed Waianae Valley Road back toward Plantation Road to conduct a traffic investigation. Sunday morning a 19-year-old male was found dead at the scene after colliding with another vehicle and crashing into a power pole on Waianae Valley Road. The 19-year-old was traveling south bound on Waianae Valley Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and collided into a vehicle traveling north bound. Two 18-year-old passengers were in the vehicle with the 19-year-old male at the time of the collision. Two passengers, a 29-year-old female and a 23-year-old female were traveling in the north pound vehicle.

Teenaged driver died in Waianae collision due to blunt force head trauma

Hashimoto’s mother Mary told KHON2 she doesn’t believe her son was driving, even though police say he was the driver. She said the car was driven by someone police say was a passenger in the car. “I do not believe in all my heart that he was driving.” she said. “It wasn’t his car.”
