Kihei woman dies in early morning Lahaina Bypass crash

A 24-year-old Kihei man was driving south in a 2009 Toyota when he lost control at about 12:45 a.m. The passenger, 23-year-old Taryn Kiyota, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Lahaina Bypass claims first fatality in early morning crash

On Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at about 12:45 AM, a Motor Vehicle Collision occurred on the Lahaina bypass 1.5 miles South of Lahainaluna Road. The collision occurred when a 2009 Toyota, being operated by a twenty-four (24) year old male from Kihei was traveling south on Lahaina Bypass. 

Deadly Crash Claims Life of Kīhei Woman on Lahaina Bypass

Maui police say speed and alcohol were factors in a deadly crash early Saturday morning on the Lahaina bypass that claimed the life of a Maui woman.

Police Release More Details in Fatal Lahaina Bypass Crash

Maui Police say the man driving the car that crashed, resulting in the death of a young Kihei woman, have  determined alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. It happened on the Lahaina Bypass road near mile marker 2.1 shortly before 1 a.m. yesterday.
A Kihei woman died in an early morning crash on the Lahaina Bypass. The driver was arrested for manslaughter and released pending further investigation. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and the passenger was wearing a seatbelt. MPD says that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
