Jean Matthews, 61, killed, 2 others critically injured, transported to hospital, after a station wagon and pickup collide at the intersection of Highway 55 and Lake Road near Nampa.

Canyon County Sheriff's deputies responded to a head on crash near the intersection of Highway 55 and Lake Road Sunday morning.

The deadly crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. and involved a Ford truck and a Chevrolet station wagon. The driver of the station wagon, 61-year-old Jean Matthews of Marsing was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adults in the truck were transported to a hospital and are located in critical condition.

Witnesses and evidence indicate that the station wagon crossed the double yellow center line but investigators do not know why. The crash is still under investigation by the Canyon County Sheriff's Office.
