Cop, motorist suffer minor injuries in collision between police SUV, car

As of 2 p.m. Saturday authorities had still not said anything about who was at fault for the wreck. Media reports indicate that the Rexburg police officer involved was heading to an incident when the collision occurred. The Madison County Sheriff's Office reported that the wreck was caused by a failure to yield but would not provide additional details.

UPDATE: POLICE SUV ROLLS IN FRONT OF REXBURG MCDONALDS

Preliminary reports show the police vehicle was traveling east on University Boulevard with its lights on. The officer was responding to an alarm. The officer went through a red light and was T-boned by the silver vehicle. The officer, who has not been identified, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor injuries. It is unclear if anyone was transported to the hospital.
