One killed in Hayden three car collision

At around 4:18 p.m., 42-year-old Gary E. Dixon from Post Falls, Idaho was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Highway 95 when he ran a red light and struck a 1997 Honda Accord driving westbound on Honeysuckle Avenue, according to Idaho State Patrol.

Investigators said Dixon was northbound on the highway when he ran the red light and broadsided the driver’s side door of Kirk’s car, which was westbound on Honeysuckle. Dixon then spun out and struck a third vehicle driven by Susan N. Pattee, 41, of Hayden. Pattee and a passenger were uninjured.
Gary E. Dixon was driving on Highway 95 when he ran a red light and struck a Honda Accord on the driver's side door. The impact of the collision caused Dixon's car to spin out and strike a Kia Sportage. When all three vehicles came to a stop, they blocked both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 95 and the Honeysuckle Avenue Intersection. The driver of the Accord was taken to Kootenai Health where he died from his injuries. Dixon and the two people in the Sportage were uninjured. The investigation is ongoing.
