Suspect charged in fatal Granite City hit and run

The suspect of a Granite City hit-and-run accident that killed a teenager and left another injured was charged Wednesday.

16-year-old Daniel Embrey and two friends were walking near the intersection of 14th and Edwardsville Road around 9:45 p.m. Monday when they were hit by a car. The car then fled the scene. Embrey was pronounced dead at the scene and a another teenager was flown to a St. Louis hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The third person was not injured. Tuesday morning the suspect's car was found in the 2000 block of 4th Street. The suspect, 26-year-old Son. T. Nguyen, has been charged with the felony of failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death.
