The driver continued driving once again, this time with the teen on the hood of the car. About 9 p.m., people in two vehicles got into an altercation near the intersection of 99th Street and Ridgeland Avenue, according to Chicago Ridge police. The driver tried to end the altercation by driving to 107th Street and Harlem Avenue, police said. They continued several blocks east to the 10600 block of Southwest Highway, where the boy was ejected from the top of the car, police said. He struck his head on the pavement and was taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition Saturday night.
