Chicago police officer injured during traffic stop.

A Chicago Police officer was injured during a traffic stop early Thursday in the West Town neighborhood.

While conducting the traffic stop, the officer became involved in a physical altercation with a male about 3 a.m. in the 900 block of North Willard Court, a police News Affairs Officer said.

The officer is expected to be treated and released from St. Mary Hospital with minor injuries.

The male was taken into custody.
