Willie Owens, 66, killed and five people injured in crash after police chase on South Saint Lawrence Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois

A 66-year-old man was killed, and five people were injured Monday evening, in a crash following a police chase in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. A Pontiac Bonneville struck at least two other vehicles after fleeing a traffic stop in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. Police said officers pulled over a Pontiac Bonneville for a routine traffic stop around 7:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Saint Lawrence Avenue. The 66-year-old man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. The driver of the Bonneville was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital, where he was treated and released into police custody.

The 88-year-old woman is listed in serious condition.The two women inside the Chevy were taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where they were treated and released.The 26-year-old driver was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital. They were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where the 80-year-old woman's condition stabilized. He was treated and released into police custody. Charges are pending against him.
