Motorcyclist killed in Woodlawncrash

(STMW) — A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon when a driver — who was later charged with DUI — pulled a U-turn and caused a crash in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, police said. Police said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. Sims, of the 2600 block of East 77th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene less than 30 minutes later, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. The driver of the Fusion, 21-year-old Jamari Triggs, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. The motorcycle then collided with the Fusion, according to Chicago Police.
