Car crashes into Southwest Side day care center, injuring a child
The 18-month-old’s condition has stabilized at Christ, according to Chicago Fire Department Chief Juan Hernandez.
“The other 27 children are safe,’’ said Hernandez, adding that they were in an area of the Teddy Bear Day Care, 3473 W. Columbus Ave., that was not affected by the crash. Those children were not injured and not taken to any hospitals, Hernandez said.

The crash happened at 8:55 a.m. in the 3400 block of West Columbus Drive. Though Chicago Police News Affairs could not confirm the building houses a daycare, chopper video of the scene showed the wreck occurred at Teddy Bear II Day Care Centers.
