Two cars collided about 6:45 p.m. in the 10300 block of South State Street in the city’s Fernwood neighborhood, according to Larry Langford, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department.
Two people who were trapped in the wreckage of a heavily damaged black car and had to be cut out of it, according to Langford.
