Around 4 a.m., a 23-year-old man was in the crosswalk at the intersection of W Chicago Ave and N LaSalle Blvd when he was struck by a white Jeep traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, according to police.

The SUV, described as a white 2016 Jeep Compass with Indiana license plate BU3440, was last seen heading south on LaSalle, police said.
