Officers are looking for a dark colored SUV that fled the scene westbound on 55th Street. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chicago police.

Araceli Gutierrez, 48, and Giovanne Bucio, 12, were crossing the street in 3100 block of West 55th Street about 8:10 p.m. Police said a vehicle hit them and took off at a high-rated speed.

The car was possibly a dark-colored 2009-2012 Chevy Malibu with front-end damage near the driver’s side headlight, police said.

Vehicle in Fatal Gage Park Hit-and-Run Located; Chicago Police Still Seek Driver

The driver was still being sought as of Saturday evening. A $5,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
