Trost's obituary noted he was a Korean War veteran who worked at Material Service in Lockport for 44 years. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, four children and nine grandchildren.
A Joliet man has been charged for a collision that resulted in the death of a New Lenox man Friday. Jorge I. Contreras, 20, was charged with improper lane use. At 5:37 p.m. Contreras was driving a Buick Enclave westbound on Route 30 when he crossed into the oncoming lanes near Hillcrest Road and hit a Ford pickup head-on. The driver of the pickup, Glenn E. Trost, 82, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Contreras and his two passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
