(STMW) — A person was killed and four others were injured in a crash Friday evening in southwest suburban Palos Park. Four people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights. La Grange Road was shut down between 123rd and 131st streets until about midnight as authorities investigated the cause of the crash. Emergency crews responded at 6:10 p.m. to the four-vehicle pileup in the 12500 block of South La Grange Road, according to Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller. Two of them were listed in serious condition, Miller said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the deceased as Christian Luna, of the 2400 block of South California Avenue in Chicago. Palos Park police said he died at the scene. Two others injured in the crash are in serious condition, police said. The victims were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights.
