Hoffman Estates man killed when SUV collides with ambulance

Jitendra Shah was pronounced dead at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was taken after the crash also which left his 53-year-old passenger hospitalized in serious condition and injured three others. Streamwood police said the crash occurred about 4:07 p.m. Sunday as Shah was driving a 2005 Honda CR-V south on Route 59 near Tallgrass Court. Police said the vehicle crossed into northbound traffic and was struck by a private ambulance operated by the Trace Ambulance Company.
