Two children killed in traffic crash : News

JACKSON COUNTY -- Two children died after a traffic crash Thursday evening in Gorham, according to a Jackson County Sheriff's Office news release. The sheriff's office and Jackson County Coroner's Office are conducting a crash reconstruction investigation. The names of the children and the driver are being withheld, but she is cooperating fully with the investigation, according to the news release. A caller reported to the office that two young children, 8 and 10 years old, were playing near Sarensen Road and were struck by a vehicle. An investigation revealed the boys were sliding down a steep bank covered in tall grass adjacent to Sarensen Road and slid into the path of the vehicle.
